Compass
is to educate and inspire the leaders, innovators, and contributors of tomorrow: intelligent young people achieving academic excellence and societal impact with creativity, confidence, compassion and conviction.
is to create a thriving, inclusive, nurturing educational environment that: promotes academic excellence, develops well-rounded individuals, supports individual success pathways, encourages social and environmental responsibility, and ensures accessibility through bursaries and scholarships.
are grounded in a culture of academic excellence, innovation, and a supportive community, we value the unique potential of each student and their capacity to positively impact the world through: intellectual ambition, integrity, perseverance, reflection, responsibility, and diversity.
We consistently achieve superb academic results, with a high percentage of students each year progressing to Oxbridge, and the world’s leading universities and conservatoires. Our expert teaching encourages intellectual ambition, curiosity and perseverance.
We have a proud reputation as early adopters of educational technology, yet our approach is carefully blended. We select the most powerful tool for each lesson – be it the latest software or pen and paper, and by limiting class sizes, students receive tailored support.
The wellbeing and personal development of our students sit at the very heart of our work. A highly skilled team of tutors, safeguarding leads and in-house counsellors provides attentive, expert support, ensuring that every child builds resilience and feels known, safe and nurtured.
We stand out from other independent schools. We have a highly ambitious, rigorous approach to education and success, yet our schools remain warm, vibrant and grounded in strong relationships, where kindness and respect are the norm.
Our location in Cambridge, a hub of progress and innovation, is a key advantage. Through the robust network of our staff, alumni, and parents, we maintain strong ties to the University, local business and tech communities - offering our students unique opportunities.
We offer a complete 1–18 education, from nursery through to Sixth Form, which provides continuity and stability throughout our students' school life. We know our students and we know our school, and therefore tailor teaching, guidance and pastoral care to ensure success.
While our students are digitally literate, we prioritise digital responsibility, ensuring they navigate the risks and benefits of the online world with wisdom. We combine ongoing education with comprehensive age-specific controls at school and available for parents at home.
At Stephen Perse we consistently provide a superb education.

We offer life changing opportunities and experiences, that challenge, inspire, and broaden horizons.
We will support and protect our students during challenging times. We will build their confidence, give them the courage and skills to be a great public speaker or performer, teach them how to perfect a university application and interview. We will work with them when they aren't getting things quite right, and instil kindness, respect, and the benefits of community and helping others. We will encourage the development of leadership skills, demonstrating the value of responsibility and accountability. We will teach the importance of sustainability and foster a love of nature, showing first-hand the impact of positive actions. We will challenge our students to excel and be intellectually curious, empowering them to make good decisions and thrive academically and personally.
Our trips and events are designed to not only broaden horizons by marvelling at such stunning nature as the Norwegian forests or Icelandic fjords, they teach social history in incredible places such as Pompeii, allowing students to be tested against peers across the world, such as playing football at the Barcelona football academy or competing at the International Olympiad. Our students will learn and be inspired by expert speakers: authors, scientists, entrepreneurs, Olympians, comedians, and leaders in their profession. They will have opportunities to perform on stage, whether it is in a concerto at a concert hall, in a choir at church, or in a rock band at the Cambridge Junction or Portland Arms.
We do all of this in a safe, friendly, vibrant community of staff and learners, and ensure every individual is seen, known, and understood.
We develop our students into independent thinkers, who become responsible, globally-minded citizens, and achieve exceptional outcomes.

The inclusive, supportive environment has allowed me to get good grades whilst managing all of my supra and extracurricular activities.
I have enjoyed that when teaching, teachers spend time giving extra background information about the subjects, allowing a deeper understanding than if we were only taught the core information.
I’ve been a student at Stephen Perse Cambridge since I was seven years old, and I chose to continue my education here due to our supportive environment and excellent resources, and took full advantage of the extracurricular opportunities available.

We are committed to helping address inequality in our community, and believe education is the single most important driver for societal change.
This is why we partner with North Cambridge Academy to create bursary opportunities in our Sixth Form, and donate iPads to local youth charities and schools to help drive social mobility.
Our bursary programme provides life changing opportunities for young people and their families, please watch the video and click the link below to find out how you can help.
