Whether your child is a budding David Beckham or Laura Robson or simply enjoys running about outside, there are plenty of ways to stay fit and active at Dame Bradbury’s – whatever their age and ability.
Promoting healthy and active lifestyles is key to our teaching and educating our pupils about lifelong participation is something we strongly believe in.
A varied curriculum provides opportunity for all. Developing knowledge, understanding and practical skills in a wide range of sports is key in our teaching methods. Whether it's getting to grips with new vocabulary or learning new skills, sport provides something for everyone. As we strive for understanding and improvement, the use of digital devices in lessons provide pupils with the opportunity to analyse and evaluate their own and others performances. Understanding the how and why we need to improve is crucial to pupil development.
There are plenty of opportunities for competitive sport for both individuals and teams in our action packed fixtures calendar. Whether it's rugby, cross country, hockey, football or netball there's something for everyone. Our house matches held every term, allow pupils to compete against one another striving to earn points for the much coveted house trophy which is awarded at the end of the academic year.
Independence, organisation, leadership, being part of a team and how to be gracious in both victory and defeat are skills in which our pupils develop, encourage and master during their time at Dame Bradbury's.
For us sport is a way of life and encouraging lifelong participation is something which we take very seriously.
