Dear Parents and Carers
The half term is upon us already and, as always, I am aghast at how quickly the time has rushed by. The weeks have been hastened on by a calendar full of opportunities for everyone, whether it be new parent lunches, events for our toddlers, drama productions, thematic learning expeditions, musical performances, sporting fixtures, sheep grooming, or marshmallow toasting and STEAM week where we all had much to Discover!
When each moment passes and our pupils look back and wish for them to happen again, I shall in future be able to refer to a very interesting article from The Guardian, sent to me by Mr Blackman. This was a piece written by Bernadette Russell about her top ten philosophical questions children should ask and, whilst all were valid and thought-provoking, the one I feel is most poignant is, 'Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.' (Dr Seuss). If you do get an opportunity to read it through, please do take a moment in half term to ask your children questions such as 'Can I think myself happy?' or indeed 'Can one person change the world?'. The answers to the latter will, I hope, resound with our Foundation focus of helping our pupils, your children, to develop the skills to ensure their successful future as perhaps a leader, innovator, creator or world changer.
Thank you all for your support and participation over this half term, and I wish you all a very restful break.
