Across our schools, we have developed a collaborative approach to leadership. Each Head leads their own school, whilst also engaging with colleagues to be leaders for the whole Foundation.

Head of Junior School Fitzwilliam Building

David Hewlett

I have worked at the Stephen Perse Foundation for a number of years; previously working at Dame Bradbury’s School, in total adding up to 12 years of experience teaching primary age children. Throughout this time I have enjoyed the roles of form teacher, head of boys' sport, science coordinator and taking charge of shaping the direction of digital learning within the Foundation's junior schools.

I firmly believe that children need to step out of their comfort zone and meet these challenges head on.Challenges leads to success if the right 'toolkits' are in place to develop a learner's ability to think critically: promoting a level of independence that sets them up for taking on the world.

Whilst 'off-duty' my family (3 children, a supportive wife and a not so supportive dog) and I enjoy venturing off to the coast for beach games, family walks and surfing.

I am thrilled to be working at Junior School Fitzwilliam Building, working closely with Mrs Graham and colleagues across all the Stephen Perse Schools, I aim to nurture the energy and opportunity that this unique school has to offer.

Our Foundation is a vibrant, dynamic place to work
