Our approach to learning prepares young people for a future in a digital world, where skills such as creativity and innovation will be crucial. Pupils in Years 3 and 4 recently had a glimpse of the future during their visit off-site to Eagle Labs innovation space in Cambridge.
At Eagle Labs, each child gained experience of 3D design and 3D printing, laser cutting of wood and acrylic, rubber stamp engraving and BBC Micro:bit coding. They worked in pairs to program the Micro:bit and create and send messages and images to the LED display.
We all returned delighted with a personalised Dame B’s keyring made on the laser cutter. Winner of the Years 3 and 4 STEAM logo design competition, Lily P, also received her winning design in acrylic.
