Digital media is as important as books in the information age, but it’s even more important to understand how to find a route through the mass of information out there in ‘cyberspace’.

That’s where we come in. With iPads available, we’ve incorporated our IT teaching within the curriculum so that skills are learnt and applied within all lessons. We ensure that there is a strong element of coding and computer programming running through the curriculum.

We embrace new technology which is so intuitive that the focus is less on how to use the application and more on how it can convey concepts and make it easy to learn in new ways that would not be possible, efficient or effective with other methods. We make technology work for us, not vice versa.

We are always mindful of the need to develop the children’s understanding of e-safety. The message is revisited in a variety of ways, through-out each year group.

"iPads mean that it is no longer simply a case of a 'sage on a stage', it is more about collaborative learning, enhanced engagement and infinitely greater learning potential. Teachers and students work together to create something special."
