Speech day success with alumna Roz Savage

Alumna Roz Savage - Key speaker at end of year Speech Day 2017

We welcomed alumna Roz Savage MBE (left 1985) back to school to be our Guest of Honour and speaker at Senior School speech day on Monday 10 July.

Taking a far from linear path, from Oxford to becoming a Management Consultant, Roz decided in a lightbulb moment while writing two possible versions of her obituary, that she needed to change her path in life. This path resulted in four world records, rowing solo across 3 oceans (the only woman to have done so), holding a Yale Fellowship and being awarded MBE.

Our learners and parents were delighted to hear more about such an inspirational journey, particularly as Roz had been at the school herself.

Head of Senior School David Walker introduced the evening with a great film of his preparations and entrance for the evening, and prizes were awarded to our Senior School students for their acheivements across the year, with wonderful musical and poetry performances. The evening showcased our different departments and areas of learning across the school, demonstrating how our Learning Wheel is integral to all that we do - so much of which was embodied in Roz's speech in the evening.
